Not every couple dreams of doing engagement photos—but when these two lovebirds realized they might regret not capturing this moment, they decided to do it their way: casual, candid, and completely themselves.

As a Maui photographer specializing in candid couples, engagement, elopement, and wedding photography, I was honored to document their love story—exactly how it feels: real, playful, and full of connection.

 

 

Meet the Couple: From Softball Fields to Sandy Beaches

After four years together, this couple got engaged in February and decided to combine their love of travel with a spontaneous engagement shoot during their trip to Maui.

 

She’s 37, he’s 40.

They play softball together.

They travel often.

 

And they weren’t sure they were “photo people”… until now.

They confessed that they’ve never really had a “good picture” of themselves—so they were nervous but excited. And guess what? That nervous energy quickly turned into pure magic.

They requested mostly fun and flirty moments, with a few romantic photos sprinkled in—and that's exactly what we created. The focus was on real laughs, authentic connection, and photos that don’t feel forced.
