The date was a sunny afternoon in Lahaina, on the picturesque Baby Beach situated on the charming Front Street. I had the pleasure of photographing the delightful Seals family, an experience that not only warmed my heart but also turned out to be one of my most cherished photoshoots. The Seals had a captivating aura about them; their love for each other was palpable, lending a magical touch to the entire session. The golden sunset, creating the perfect backdrop for capturing their joyful moments. The day ended on a high note, with both the family and I content with the beautiful memories we had created.

Now, when I look at the pictures, a wave of nostalgia hits me hard, as the once vibrant town of Lahaina has been devastated by a ruthless fire. The lively streets, bustling shops, and the beautiful beach that were once brimming with life and laughter are now in ruins, etching a picture of despair. The heart-wrenching contrast between the joy of that day and the present state of Lahaina is difficult to comprehend. However, amidst this tragedy, I find solace in the memory of that day and the pictures that immortalized it. The photographs serve as a beacon of hope, reminding us of the vibrant town Lahaina once was, and could be again. Our collective prayer is for the restoration of Lahaina, for it to rise from the ashes and regain its lost glory. As we rebuild, we remember the joy and beauty of the past, while looking forward with hope to the future.

Even though she recently lost her father, she felt his presence throughout the wedding day, providing her with strength and comfort. After some trials and tribulations and a few 'frogs' along the way, they found their happily ever after in each other. Being parents adds another layer of depth to their relationship. Kim's adorable 5-year-old daughter Sloane and Bryan's charming 10-year-old son Clayton are their world. The couple loves engaging in fun activities with their kids - from boating and soccer to football. But when they do steal some moments for themselves, Bryan and Kim love indulging in their shared passion for food, exploring new culinary delights on their regular dinner dates. The Hyatt in Lahaina provided the perfect backdrop for this vibrant couple's celebration of love. Meet the Buell family - a lively, blended family with a taste for adventure, sports, and everything sweet. This unique family, consisting of 'his and hers' kids, with no 'ours', recently had a remarkable photo session at two of the most breathtaking locations in Maui - Honolua Forest and Ironwoods Beach, Kapalua. The family is made up of Patrick, the father, his son Ben (13), and his daughters, the twins Jillian and Carli (15). What sets this family apart is their love for travel and their strong faith. They cherish every minute they spend together, whether they're playing sports, working out, or simply enjoying each other's company. And when it comes to food, they have a shared love for chocolate, cookie dough, and anything matcha! The twins, Jillian and Carli, each have their unique passions. Carli is a free-spirited young lady who adores makeup and fashion, and has a knack for volleyball. Jillian, on the other hand, is a dedicated bookworm, a movie enthusiast, and just like her sister, she also loves volleyball. Ben, the youngest of the three, is the family's bundle of joy. This fun-loving goofball can light up any room with his antics. He plays baseball and is known to be quite an ornery little dude. All three kids share an unshakeable bond with their beloved dog, Vince &ndash; named after Vince Vaughn. They adore Vince so much that they wish they could bring him along on their travels to Maui! I recently had the opportunity to capture some truly special moments with Anna, a 43-year-old mother living just outside of Seattle with her two daughters, Lilah (15) and Georgia (13). This year, life dealt some heavy blows to this beautiful family - the passing of the girls' father just after Anna's divorce. It's been a challenging time, but their resilience is nothing short of inspiring. In the midst of their struggles, they decided to embark on a 'survival' trip, a healing journey aimed at celebrating their resilience, togetherness, and also to honor their late father on Father's Day in a place he always wanted to take them. They were accompanied by two strong pillars of support, Anna's mother and her best friend, RuthAnn. Throughout the session, I was deeply moved by the tight bond they all shared. Their laughter, their tears, and their indomitable spirit were a testament to their strength and unity. The session was not just about taking pictures, but about capturing the essence of their journey, their shared pain, their collective hope, and their undying love for each other. To say that this session was fun would be an understatement. It was an incredible, life-affirming experience that reminded me of the power of love, resilience, and family. Each picture is a testament to their journey, a snapshot of their 'survival' and a celebration of their love. This incredible couple, met at a small Christian university in Michigan and from there, their journey of love began. After dating for four years, they returned to their home state and got married. Now, two years into their marriage, they live a simple life, cherishing photos from significant moments as reminders of God's faithfulness.Evan and Kyla both work in the medical field, with a shared passion for the intricacies of the human body. Outside of their professional lives, they love being outdoors, going for walks with their adorable golden retriever, Honey, and camping in the Pacific Northwest. The decision to do a photoshoot at Makena Secret Cove was a delightful surprise for Kyla, one of the many surprises that have added joy and excitement to their relationship. The picturesque setting of Makena Secret Cove, with its amazing sunsets and crystal-blue waters, was a perfect backdrop for this photoshoot. One could clearly see the love and mutual support between Evan and Kyla during the session.
